Dupuytren's Contracture
Injectable Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum for Dupuytren's Contracture
Dupuytren's disease limits hand function, diminishes the quality of life and may ultimately disable the hand. Surgery followed by hand therapy is standard treatment, but it is associated with serious potential complications. Injection of collagenase clostridium histolyticum may reduce the joint contractures caused by Dupuytren's disease. One day after injection, the joints are manipulated. Studies have shown significant improvement in reduction of contractures including improvement in range of motion in all joints.
Dr. Jeffrey Richards is an authorized provider for Xiaflex injections. We are pleased to offer this treatment as an alternative to surgery. Please call us at 239-334-7000 to find out more.
